Competent and professional doctor of chiropractic focusing on helping people and families attain and maintain maximized health and wellness.
As a competitive sports player for the past thirty years, Dr. Nick Fourie understands injury not only as a trained and experienced healer but also as a patient (athlete).
HANDS-ON APPROACH
In the world of chiropractic, there are many methodologies. Dr. Nick is an expert “Full Spine Manual Adjuster”, and also makes use of instruments and gentle pressure when needed.
The comfort of the Patient during the adjustments is the most important factor, when considering which technique to use. Every patient is different and requires different approaches to obtain optimum results.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
______________________________________________________________________________________________
Nick received a full sport rugby scholarship from the Life Chiropractic College in Atlanta. At Life Chiropractic College he volunteered in the training room to treat various injuries on basketball, hockey, rugby, soccer, and track athletes.
Dr. Nick graduated in 2002 and opened up a practice in Pennsylvania. He felt there was something more he needed to do for patients with complicated low back problems, disc problems, sciatica, or radiating pain down the leg. There had to be an alternative to extremely invasive low back surgery, which lots of times do not have the desired results. After intensive research, and having experienced the good results of using the decompression table on himself, Dr. Nick decided to purchase this equipment. The results have been phenomenal. The idea and treatment makes a lot of sense. The decompression of the spine reverses the degeneration process of the spine, and relieves pain and discomfort dramatically.
AUSTIN CALLS
______________________________________________________________________________________________
The cold weather in PA was getting to be too much. Dr. Nick started researching “Best Places to Live” and Austin came up all the time. One visit and he fell in love with Austin. On the second visit he ran in the “Austin Human Race” downtown. He was impressed with the fitness and activity level of Austin as well as how friendly people are here. Throw in the Greenbelt, Austin Lake, Zilker Park, and the decision was made: “This is where I want to live!” I moved to Austin in February 2009, started working at Active Life Chiropractic, always knowing I would like to open my own practice in Austin. On Thanksgiving weekend 2009, I came for a drive through the Eastside, I knew right then, that this is where I want to practice, in this beautiful city. Dr Nick volunteers his time as the official chiropractor for the athletic department, at Huston Tillotson University.
ALWAYS AN ATHLETE
